ABOUT

Maeve Lalonde is an Ottawa-raised and based singer-songwriter.

Having her start in music at a very young age, Maeve realized her love of music while being part of numerous choirs over the years, including the Christ Church Cathedral Girls Choir, as well as the Ottawa Choral Society.

After attending De La Salle high school for vocal music, Maeve went on to persue other career aspirations.

After a couple of years, her return to music was nothing less than triumphant in the Ottawa music scene.

Taking on the guitar and teaching herself to play in March of 2016, she quickly became a known name on the Ottawa scene, writing and playing her original music all over town. Before she knew it, she was starting her own Open Mic as host every Sunday night at the Rainbow Bistro since January 2017. She's made huge strides over the past two years, recently re-branding herself under the Gaelic spelling of her name: Méabh, for all future shows. Incorporating her heritage with a unique name to go under going forward.

Performing at many larger events over the past 2 years, Méabh has made a name for herself performing all over the city at both large and smaller scale shows, notably: performing at Radio and TV personality, Dylan Black's 2016 Birthday Extravaganza. Tim Tierney's Celebrate Summer Fair two years in a row. Opening for Grammy Winning Artist, Leyla McCalla, and Juno Nominees from Yarmouth, Rain Over Saint Ambrose. Many Events associated with The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Tysen's Mission To a Million, Méabh has really put her music out there, being actively involved in community events!

Méabh has appeared on Rogers Daytime TV, as well as the Rogers Cable 22 Special "Live on Elgin". She has been interviewed by Alan Neal on All In A Day where they played her song 'Fantasy' Live on air on the drive home. She's been interviewed as well for the Ottawhat? podcast, as well as for Apt 613.

On the side, Méabh has been dipping her toes into the world of Standup Comedy. Appearing on a variety of comedy open mic stages, to the local comedy clubs, including shows in Montreal at the Art Loft  - if you're lucky you can catch a laugh or two from her!

With the Fall 2017 release of her first solo EP, there are big things in the works for Méabh. Working now with a full band, larger scale shows and bigger tours are in her near future!

Her delicate original lyrics and voice - matched with the vocal power she harnesses in full band and duo settings make Méabh a versatile artist, able to play a variety of types of shows.
